BMW is facing a comprehensive restructuring of its portfolio.

By 2030, half of the model range should be electric.

What the Munich plans, which models are in the pipeline.

Munich – BMW* has a lot planned for the coming years.

A medium-term goal is for every second car to be delivered with an electric drive by 2030.

The group wants to build its new models from 2025 on a new platform that is primarily geared towards electric drives.

Then all new BMWs should not only be based on a new software and drive architecture, but also be completely recyclable.

But until then, a lot of water will still flow down the Isar.

It is worth taking a look into the near future.

What does the Munich carmaker plan to do by 2025?

New BMW models: 8 series facelift

As early as March, BMW will be putting the revised 8 Series on the road.

The coupé, convertible and Gran Coupé come with a modified design and modified interior.

From the outside, the update for the 8 series can be recognized primarily by a modified front end with new chrome bars for the kidneys, which are illuminated as standard at night.

Inside, in addition to new fabrics and colors, a screen that has been enlarged from 10.25 to 12.3 inches makes the difference.

When it comes to the drive, on the other hand, everything stays the same.

BMW has revised the 8 series and is sending coupés, gran coupés and convertibles onto the road with new details.

New BMW models: M3 Touring

The premiere of the BMW M3 Touring* could take place in May 2022.

Not much is known about it, except that a 6-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine is used.

Like the M3 sedan, the car will have a polarizing front kidney grille and the memorable L-shaped rear lights.

New BMW models: iX M60

The BMW iX* has been available since November 2021.

The market launch for the iX M60 is planned for June 2022.

The all-electric drive with two BMW M eDrive motors and BMW xDrive electric all-wheel drive has an output of 619 hp and a torque of 1015 Newton metres.

The range should be up to 560 kilometers.

You have to pay 132,200 euros for this.

New BMW models: X1

In the second half of 2022 there will also be a new edition of the BMW X1.

Visually, the vehicle should be based on the X3 and X5.

In the coming year, the model will also be fully electric as the iX1 and as the M Performance model M35i.

New BMW models: X8

Also coming this year is the BMW X8.

The coupé offshoot of the X7 is to come on the market with three engine variants.

According to

Autobild

, the X8 will herald a new brand face for SUVs that will be adopted by the smaller models over time.

New BMW models: M2

The market launch for the new BMW M2 will be in 2022. In terms of vehicle dimensions, the new M2 will be larger than the current version because it will be built on the same platform as the normal 2 Series.

And this in turn uses the platform of the three and four BMW.

Inside, a double-charged in-line six-cylinder is used, which should have at least 410 hp.

The Competition could go in the direction of 450 hp, and the top model M2 CS even up to 490 hp.

Power domes on the bonnet, wider and flatter.

New BMW models: 7 series

With the new BMW 7 Series G70*, which will hit the streets this year, the Bavarian automaker will not only break new ground in terms of design, but also under the hood.

In the flagship, the V8 and V12 combustion engines will be dispensed with, instead hybrid units and electric versions will play a dominant role.

The most powerful variant with probably over 650 hp will be the i7.

New BMW models: M4 CSL

The BMW M4 CSL (Coupé Sport Lightweight) should also come this year.

To live up to the moniker, the sports coupe will feature plenty of carbon body panels and a stripped-down interior with lightweight sports seats.

In order to save even more weight, BMW installed particularly light rims and hidden behind them the carbon-ceramic brake system with gold-colored brake calipers.

At least 550 hp should be able to be accessed.

New BMW models: 5 Series

BMW will probably introduce the all-electric version of the new 5 Series* in 2023.

This should be called the G60 and be available as a combustion and electric variant.

Specifications are only known from the upcoming M version, the engine is said to produce 700 hp.

The electric version i5 should come at the earliest in 2024.

New BMW models: Concept XM

For its 50th birthday, the BMW M company is giving away the Concept XM, the first independent model since the M1.

The newly developed plug-in hybrid drive consisting of a V8 petrol engine with an electric motor is said to achieve a peak output of 750 hp and a maximum torque of 1000 Newton meters.

Purely electrically, the ConceptXM should have a range of 80 kilometers.

Bavarian hum: BMW has presented the Concept XM, which is to be available as a plug-in hybrid for a system output of 750 hp.

New BMW models: X2

2023 BMW could the compact SUV coupe

Bring X2 to market.

How a possible X2 successor will be motorized is still purely speculative, according to

Autobild

there could be versions with both electric motors and combustion engines.

What is certain is that the new X2 will be larger than the current model.

New BMW models: 3 series

Already this year there is a facelift for the 3 Series*, which will probably be equipped with the curved display in connection with the new iDrive generation from the BMW iX.

A big leap could take place in 2025, then the 3 Series could be powered purely electrically.

After the production of the i3, which has been built since 2013, will be discontinued this year*, the model name would be appropriately free.

It could be based on the new e-drive platform, which should be ready for use in 2025.

According to

Autobild

, an electric and a combustion version could be produced in parallel for a while.

But this is pure speculation.
