Bavaria relaxes the Corona rules.

Athletes no longer need to be vaccinated and 2G is enough for spectators.

The cabinet hints at an even bigger jump in March.

Munich - Suddenly everything happened very quickly.

"2G-Plus will generally become 2G - other areas accessible under 3G conditions," headlines the Bavarian state government in its announcement of February 15.

The cabinet has initiated far-reaching easing of the corona rules (valid from February 17).

Also for local and amateur sports.

The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) is already looking forward to it.

For months, the association had insisted on overturning the 2G rule for active athletes.

The BFV called for 3G outdoors instead.

And has now achieved its goal.

This means that players and coaches no longer have to be vaccinated against the corona virus.

The association recommends this, but a daily test is sufficient for outdoor sports.

Doing a test before the game and training should hopefully not be a problem for athletes, explained a BFV spokesman.

Corona loosening in Bavaria: Spectators only need 2G - mask requirement remains

But: Stricter conditions still apply to spectators than to athletes.

Fans need 2G proof, otherwise they are not allowed on the sports field.

So far, however, the 2G Plus rule has applied to viewers.

Clubs now have to check proof of vaccination or recovery.

Fans do not need an extra test.

Anyone who has been vaccinated and also recovered or boosted was already exempt from the test requirement.

However, masks are still compulsory on the sports field.

The capacity limit of 50 percent for viewers was not changed either.

The BFV found out at the beginning of the month that this could be controlled reasonably well by the clubs.

Corona in football: Bayern relaxes - but one point of criticism remains

A point of criticism from the BFV also remains in the relaxed infection protection ordinance.

Namely: The 3G proof of the players must continue to be checked by the home club.

The organizational effort does not change here in comparison to the control of 2G proofs.

The association proposes a regulation that has already been introduced with legal certainty in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse.

Here, each club assures compliance with the current rules in a sample form.

In the event of an infringement, the responsibility no longer lies with the home club, but only with the person who also broke the rule.

No more restrictions from March 19th?

Bavaria refers to the Corona step-by-step plan

If the amateur season is really up and running again in all leagues, the debate about rules and controls could be over entirely.

"The current federal corona powers are expected to end on March 19," said the Bavarian state government.

The federal government is working on a phased plan to abolish almost all corona rules.

Bavaria is optimistic that this goal can actually be achieved by March 19th.
