Germany is heading towards an end to the Corona rules.

This is shown by the draft resolution for the Corona summit, which is available to Merkur.de.

Berlin – Germany is breaking away from many corona measures.

Two days before the next federal-state meeting, a clear opening plan is emerging.

Most of the current rules are expected to fall on March 20th.

The draft resolution, which is available to

Merkur.de

, specifically states: “By the start of spring on March 20, 2022, the far-reaching restrictions on social, cultural and economic life should be gradually withdrawn.” Only “basic protective measures” should continue to apply, such as For example, the obligation to wear masks, for example on buses and trains.

The Bundestag should “create the legal basis” for this.

Corona summit: federal and state governments agree on “three-step openings”

The federal and state governments also refer to the expert council, which had already provided the scientific basis for easing on Sunday.

The motto when opening is: “As many restrictions as possible should be withdrawn given the current situation.

At the same time, as many accompanying measures as necessary should be maintained.

  • 1st step (from now on):

Nationwide no 2G in retail and more contacts at private meetings.

So far there is an upper limit of 10 people, an increase to 20 is under discussion. However, this number has not yet been decided, the federal and state governments are still discussing this area.

The stricter rules (own household plus a maximum of two other people) continue to apply to those who have not been vaccinated.

  • 2nd step (from March 4th)

: 3G instead of 2G in gastronomy and for overnight stays.

In addition, clubs and discotheques are allowed to open again (with 2Gplus).

More spectators should be allowed to attend major national events.

An upper limit of a maximum of 25,000 is under discussion, but nothing has been decided here either.

  • 3rd step (from March 20th)

: "All more profound protective measures" are dropped.

The home office regulations, which are mandatory under the Infection Protection Act, are also no longer applicable.

Corona summit: compulsory vaccination remains - less power for RKI

The Corona Summit is also about facility-related vaccination requirements.

Last week, Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) publicly advanced.

Bavaria will suspend the care vaccination for the time being, said the Franconian.

The draft resolution now clearly adheres to the nursing vaccination requirement by March 15th.

But: The health authorities have a discretion in the implementation of the measures.

An entry ban represents the last step.

The recovered status also continues to cause discussions.

The Robert Koch Institute had reduced it to 90 days, although people across Europe are considered to have recovered for six months.

Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach had delegated the decision-making power to the RKI by means of a legislative proposal.

Now the RKI is being deprived of this power again.

"In the revision of the Covid-19 Protective Measures Exception Ordinance initiated by the Federal Minister of Health, there will be no delegation to the Paul Ehrlich Institute and the Robert Koch Institute with regard to the determination of the vaccinated and recovered status."

The federal and state governments will “closely monitor the further course of infection”.

Therefore, there could be another Corona summit in March.

However, only “if the situation requires it”.

According to current models, however, this does not seem to be the case.

The draft resolution says with a view to the expert council: “It is expected that the wave will level off and the number of new infections with the omicron variant BA.1 will decrease.

Therefore, now is the time to plan and communicate opening strategies with foresight.”
