The United Nations considered that the pollution caused by countries and companies causes more victims than the deaths of the Corona virus, noting that there is a great disregard for this issue.
According to a United Nations report on the environment published today, “pollution from pesticides, plastics and electronic waste causes widespread violations of human rights and the death of nine million people annually,” calling for “immediate and ambitious action to ban some toxic chemicals.”
In turn, United Nations Special Rapporteur David Boyd said: "Current policies to address the risks posed by pollution and toxic substances are largely failing and causing widespread violations of the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment."
According to the latest statistics of the American World Meters website, the Corona pandemic, since its spread around the world, has caused the death of five million and 848 thousand and 669 people.
