Israel has sent an envoy to Vienna for meetings with the heads of the United States' negotiating teams and other powers with Iran to receive updates and clarify its positions on a possible return to the nuclear deal, senior Israeli officials said today (Tuesday).
This is the first time Israel has done so since Nuclear talks with Iran have resumed after President Biden took office. The move comes as negotiations between Iran and the superpowers enter the decisive moments of reaching an agreement or failure.

The Israeli envoy is the head of the strategic department at the Foreign Ministry, Yosh Zarka.
The latter met yesterday with the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi and today met with the heads of the superpowers' negotiating teams.
"He will meet all the issues and givers except the Iranians," said a senior Israeli official.
The decision to send Zarqa to Vienna was made after a situation assessment held at the Foreign Ministry last week regarding the nuclear talks.
Senior Foreign Ministry officials came up with the idea and Foreign Minister Lapid gave his consent.
Israel is very concerned that in the decisive moments of the negotiations, the United States and the other powers will make further concessions that will make the 2015 nuclear agreement even worse.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said in an interview published this morning in the Bahraini newspaper Al-Ayyam that a return to the nuclear deal would be a "strategic mistake."
