Hama-Sana

The Directorate of Transport in Raqqa Governorate continues to conduct technical inspections of vehicles and heavy machinery in the villages and towns of the countryside liberated from the governorate in order to reduce the financial burden and effort on citizens who were previously forced to take their vehicles to the directorate’s temporary headquarters in the center of Hama city.

The Director of Raqqa Transport, Engineer Khalaf Al-Hamoud, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that since the Ministry of Transport issued a decision early last year to conduct a technical examination of agricultural machinery and works in municipalities and agricultural associations located in the countryside of the governorate, this issue has been given great importance because citizens have been traveling long distances to the directorate headquarters. To conduct the aforementioned examination, he indicated that during the past year, about 2,500 different vehicles, including agricultural, heavy, works and tourism, were examined.

Al-Hamoud pointed out that the first technical inspection of the mechanisms in the countryside liberated from the governorate for the current year was carried out late last week, at the Shanan crossing and the municipalities of Sabkha, Ma'dan, Al Bu Hamad and Al-Dibsi. Modern technical devices are used to check mechanisms through a forgery detection device for chassis numbers, and traditional methods can be used when the device malfunctions or in case of necessity.

Al-Hamoud indicated that the work of the directorate is fully automated and is carried out on a sophisticated computer network, and the directorate was centrally linked with the Ministry of Transport and other associated directorates, which contributed to facilitating the conduct of citizens’ transactions in any governorate, noting that the application of the electronic payment feature contributed to the speedy completion of transactions, in addition to the directorate’s hall. It includes all the parties related to the work, namely, the Traffic Branch, Social Security and the Land Transport Syndicate, which led to a reduction in the time for completing transactions.

For his part, the head of the technical department in the directorate, Eng. Ahmed Jaleb indicated that conducting a technical inspection of the mechanisms enables citizens to transfer ownership, renew driving licenses, and know the technical condition of the mechanism in general, such as changing the plates, changing the engine and changing the color, explaining that the technical inspections are carried out over several days until the inspection is done. All the mechanisms in the municipality headquarters and that the date and place of the technical examination in the liberated countryside is determined through social media and the heads of administrative units.

A number of citizens indicated that conducting a technical examination in the countryside liberated from the governorate contributed a lot to reducing the financial burden and effort instead of having previously to go with their vehicles to the headquarters of the Directorate of Transport in Hama Governorate, in addition to the fact that vehicle registrations and all other transactions in the Directorate are currently taking place in a short time. And without delay, especially after applying the electronic payment feature and networking between governorates and the presence of a window for the Traffic Branch in the Directorate to obtain a clearance for the vehicle.
