Prince Andrew has apparently reached an agreement with Virginia Giuffre.
She had accused him of abuse.
New York – Prince Andrew (61) has agreed in principle on a comparison with the US plaintiff Virgina Giuffre (38).
This had confronted him with allegations of abuse with a civil lawsuit.
This emerges from a court document from Tuesday, which is available to the German Press Agency.
How much the British royal will pay Giuffre has not been announced.
However, the 61-year-old wants to make a "significant donation" to an organization that Giuffre founded to help victims of abuse.
If the agreement is accepted by the court, civil litigation would be off the table.
The lawyers for Queen Elizabeth II's son had tried several times in advance to prevent a trial and referred to a comparison that the plaintiff had made in 2009 with the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died today.

Giuffre testified that she was sexually assaulted by Prince Andrew in 2001 at the age of 17.
Back then, over 20 years ago, Jeffrey Epstein forced her to “loan” her to Andrew.
Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied the allegations.
Because of the allegations and his previous contacts with Epstein, however, he gave up his royal duties in 2019 and largely withdrew from the public.
He then lost his military titles and royal patronage in January.
The Queen stripped him of all titles, allegedly on the advice of Prince Charles and Prince William.
