Summary.
On January 5, the small group "Zouaves Paris" is officially dissolved in the Council of Ministers.
According to the decree of dissolution, this informal group which appeared in 2017 and brought together young men, was "at the origin of numerous and recurring violent acts" and propagated "an openly racist discourse".
The "Zouaves Paris" were involved in the violence committed against SOS Racisme activists on December 5 during Éric Zemmour's meeting in Villepinte, and this was not the first violent action for the collective.
In June 2020, members of the group attacked the Saint-Sauveur, an emblematic bar of the Parisian libertarian movement.
Today, the "Zouaves Paris" no longer have the right to exist but its members continue to talk to each other secretly.
This episode of Source Code is told by Florian Loisy and Gwenael Bourdon, journalists at the Île-de-France investigation unit, and Jean-Michel Décugis, journalist at the Parisian police-justice service.
