By feigning distress, a con artist tried to rob a Krailling pensioner of her savings and jewelry.
The greed for money was the 22-year-old's undoing.
Krailling – The over 80-year-old pensioner from Krailling was shopping last Friday when she was approached by a woman she did not know.
She offered to help the elderly woman around the house.
The woman from Krailling agreed and took the stranger home with her.
There, the 22-year-old, a Serbian national, pretended to be in financial distress and needed several thousand euros for a smuggler to return to her home country.
Trick thief deceives Kraillingerin and demands several thousand euros in cash
In the days that followed, the trickster visited the 80-year-old again and repeatedly described her alleged financial distress.
The pensioner then gave the woman several hundred euros in cash.
In the further course both drove to a bank.
Here the Kraillingerin withdrew several thousand euros in cash, which she also handed over to the 22-year-old.
According to the police, jewelry worth several hundred euros was also handed over in addition to cash.
Würmtal police arrested the trickster - an investigation was initiated
After the con artist kept making further demands on the pensioner, she finally decided to call the police.
A complaint was filed with the Planegger inspection on Tuesday.
Officials were able to arrest the 22-year-old at the Gräfelfing S-Bahn station.
An investigation into fraud was initiated against the Serbian national, who has no permanent residence in Germany.
She was transferred to the detention center of the Munich police headquarters and brought before an investigating judge yesterday.
He will decide on the question of detention.
