On Wednesday, the federal and state governments had agreed on numerous relaxations of the corona virus.

Thus, simplifications are also planned in Lower Saxony.

However, some questions are still open.

Hanover – The corona-related contact restrictions for vaccinated and recovered people are also being relaxed again in Lower Saxony.

This was announced by Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) on Wednesday evening in Hanover after consultations with the federal and state governments.

At the latest it should be on February 24th, i.e. Thursday next week.

The step could possibly be implemented earlier, said Weil.

Anyone who has been vaccinated or recovered can currently meet a maximum of nine other people in the state.

Children up to the age of 13 are exempt from this.

Anyone who is neither vaccinated nor recovered is only allowed to meet two other people from another household in addition to their own household.

A next Corona regulation is to come into force in Lower Saxony next week.

Many corona rules such as contact restrictions or access rules for leisure areas are laid down in regulations.

The previous regulation is still valid until Wednesday next week, so an extension or adjustment would be necessary anyway.

On Wednesday, the federal and state governments had agreed on numerous relaxations of the corona virus.

This affects, for example, spectators at events or the abolition of the 2G rule in retail.

In Lower Saxony, the higher administrative court overturned the 2G rule in retail before Christmas.

Since then, customers have had to wear an FFP2 mask, and proof of vaccination is no longer necessary.

Many restrictions are to be lifted nationwide in several steps.

From March 4th, access to gastronomy should also be possible again for people who have not been vaccinated against the corona virus if they show a negative test, as can be seen from the federal and state decision on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister emphasized: “The pandemic is not over, but we now have the basis for slowly, purposefully, but finally returning to normality.

We all wish for this normality very much.”

As a rule, the federal and state governments do not agree on a joint course for schools and day care centers during the consultations.

On Wednesday evening, Weil left open whether anything will change in these areas in Lower Saxony.

He referred to a press conference on Thursday, which Minister of Education Grant Hendrik Tonne will also attend.

The Prime Minister, Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) and Economics Minister Bernd Althusmann (CDU) will also provide information there on how to proceed in the pandemic.

It was not until Tuesday that a corona test was mandatory in daycare centers in the state.

This affects children from the age of three - they must be tested negative three times a week in order to be allowed to go to daycare.
