Cyberpunk 2077 Next Gen Trailer (CD Project Red)

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 game is considered one of the most anticipated games of recent years, but was a failed and painful launch when it was released in December 2020 and suffered from performance issues and bugs on the computer and consoles.

The developer has promised that over time it will release updates that will fix the game and the many issues that have arisen, and in the last 14 months since its release it has indeed addressed some of the issues, but last night we received its big and long awaited update most fans and players expected.

CD Projekt has released to its YouTube channel a number of videos showing the "next generation update" of Cyberpunk 2077 and how it ran on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, and besides the many graphic improvements and bug fixes, the company worked hard and worked on many changes the community requested. "They will upgrade the game and make it an almost completely different game."

The next-generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will feature dynamic 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, support RTX technology at 30 frames per second, and gain faster charging times and quite a few graphical upgrades.

The PlayStation 5 version will also support the various capabilities of the console's DualSense remote.

The new update also brings updates and renovations to the various gameplay mechanisms: rebalancing the battle and loot systems, new weapons, but most importantly - the game's artificial intelligence has been significantly improved and now characters will respond much more to the players' actions.

Vehicle traffic on the road has also been improved and made much more reliable, and a great attempt has been made to make the city of Knight City a much more realistic and reliable place.

The videos on the game's YouTube channel show extensively (about half an hour each video) how Cyberpunk 2077 ran on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, so players who have not yet purchased the game and are probably apprehensive will be able to decide if the game suits them.

There is no doubt that many players have been waiting for the long-awaited update of the game, and quite a few claims are thrown on the net that these are the changes that the players should have received from the beginning when they acquired Cyberpunk about two years ago.

This problematic launch has pointed to the big problem of the gaming industry in recent years, in which quite a few companies release games in "unbaked" mode and take care to fix the multiple bugs only after the game launches.

In many cases players pre-order the games ahead of time and end up disappointed when the games are first released to the market.

Other notable examples of this are games like EA's Battlefield 2042, or Rockstar's remade GTA trilogy.

Both of these games were launched full of bugs and glitches that were indeed fixed (and still fixed) even months after the games were released to the market.

While it is not necessarily fair to make the comparison between CD Projekt Red and EA or Rockstar, as it is considered a much smaller developer than these two giants, Cyberpunk 2077 was the game considered by many to be the "wake-up call" to this ugly phenomenon in the industry.
