Thanks to the cooperation of an international police team, two wanted criminals were arrested at Frankfurt Airport after they landed from Mexico.

Immediately after their arrival from Mexico, two Frenchmen who were wanted throughout the EU were caught at Frankfurt Airport.

Both are said to have dealt in drugs.

Frankfurt – When entering Europe, the police at Frankfurt Airport* arrested two internationally wanted drug criminals on Friday (February 11th, 2022).

This was announced by the State Criminal Police Office of Hesse * on Wednesday (February 16, 2022).

The men, aged 31 and 33, had previously been sentenced to several years in prison in France and went into hiding after the conviction.

According to the police, a French search team located the men in Mexico and found out that the two were planning to enter Germany.

The Federal Criminal Police Office and investigators from the Hessian State Criminal Police Office, who planned access in Frankfurt*, were then turned on via the European target search network ENFAST.

In a joint action with federal police forces, the investigators arrested the two men at the airport.

According to the police, the French citizens were accused and convicted of various drug-related offences.

The 33-year-old has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for dealing tons of cocaine and heroin.

The 31-year-old was sentenced to four years in prison for violating the Narcotics Act.

The police handed over the two arrested persons to the responsible magistrate at the weekend.

The men are now awaiting extradition to France in a prison.

The Frankfurt Public Prosecutor's Office is responsible for extradition proceedings.

Investigators from the Hessian State Criminal Police Office and the Federal Criminal Police Office were involved in the joint police search, together with a team from France.

International criminals are arrested at Frankfurt Airport on a regular basis.
