More and more people are moving away from the villages and can no longer take care of the traditional family burial sites.
For this reason, forms of burial that do not require grave maintenance should also be offered in Raisting.
Raisting – At its most recent meeting, the Raisting municipal council gave some thought to the development of the cemetery.
So far, earth graves have been a tradition in the village, and the burial of urns in urn walls and steles followed only slowly.
According to the municipal council, it is now necessary to react to new developments in burials.
The consensus in the council is that it is not possible to create a cemetery in which urns are buried under trees at the Raistingen cemetery due to the circumstances.
Nevertheless, other forms of natural burial should be considered.
For example, urns could be buried in a meadow in the ground.
According to Martin Höck, stone slabs bearing the names of the deceased could be laid over them to mark the graves.
The mayor also thinks it is possible to erect a memorial on the edge of the urn field.
By not naming names, anonymous burials would also be possible on such urn fields.
His proposals received the approval of the municipal councils.

In the cemetery, honorable memory of the deceased should be preserved
It is important to Höck that with everything new that is introduced, the cemetery remains a place where an honorable memory of the deceased is preserved.
With this in mind, Albertine Kapfer suggested not rushing anything.
All options should be considered before starting a remodel.
It is important to Maiken Winter that the personal situation of the offspring is taken into account.
People's mobility is increasing, which often makes grave care more difficult: "If someone lives in Hamburg, how is he supposed to care for a grave in Raisting?" asked Winter.
Therefore, simple resting places should be set up in any case and anonymous burials should be possible.
Councils decided to put the issue on the agenda in due course.
They want to have some time beforehand to find out about possible forms of burial.
Problems with weeds on gravel roads not yet solved
Also in another matter concerning the cemetery, no decision has been made.
These are the weeds that grow on the gravel roads.
However, weeds are not a problem for everyone, as Christoph Adolphs stated: "Some people are bothered by them, others not." reasons is out of the question.
