Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks on February 21 in Moscow with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Dr. Faisal Miqdad.
Zakharova said in a weekly press briefing today: It is planned to exchange views in an extensive manner on the developments of the situation in Syria, focusing on the prospects for a political solution to the crisis in it, in addition to discussing the overall situation in the region.
Zakharova indicated that Lavrov and Mikdad intend to discuss the activity of the Astana process, taking into account the results of the seventeenth international meeting, and they will also consider the issue of the work of the committee to discuss the constitution in Geneva.
Zakharova explained that it is also supposed to discuss all issues of consolidating and expanding Syrian-Russian relations in various fields and offering practical assistance to Syria in overcoming the consequences of the long-running crisis.
