If the 5,883 programs broadcast daily and the 942 broadcast on weekends are added up, and the total is multiplied by the 70 questions that have been asked in each of them, the result is 477,750.
This mathematical operation could be a round of

, one of the star tests of

and it is the approximate calculation of the challenges that the contest has posed in its 25 years of history, a figure that coincides, more or less, with the number of articles that the Encyclopedia Britannica includes.
The legendary TVE program celebrates its anniversary this Thursday with a 90-minute special at night.
It will be broadcast by La 2 starting at 10:00 p.m., with a good handful of new questions for its participants.
It will be a multiple broadcast, because its evening schedule will also be maintained on this day.

By profession, contestant
“Surely we have repeated questions.
Sometimes saying who Christopher Columbus was and other times who discovered America”, comments Sergi Schaaff amusedly on the other end of the phone, director since the first day of the flagship RTVE contest, which is recorded in the Barcelona studios of the chain.
However, the anniversary will not be celebrated in its usual setting.
La Paloma, one of the most historic theaters in Barcelona, has hosted the recording of the special program in which its eternal presenter, Jordi Hurtado, will put six other well-known television game show hosts to the test: Ion Aramendi, Llum Barrera, Carolina Ferre, Antonio Garrido, Goyo González and Luis Larrodera, who will be the contestants.
The special will include dramatized
sketches
, live music and congratulations from all kinds of personalities and colleagues from TVE.
Juanjo Cardenal, popular voice of the space until last year, will return to visit and comment on curiosities and anecdotes together with Elisenda Roca and Pilar Vázquez, who is rejoining the program after being absent for a few months for personal reasons.
Some of the most outstanding contestants who have passed through the program will also participate.
Knowing and winning
came to Spanish television to humanize and give names and surnames to the contestants, when the claim of this type of programs used to be their great prizes.
In other formats, the car and the apartment on the beach were always present, but the applicants disappeared at the end of each broadcast.
Hurtado thus values the human factor as one of the keys to success: “Before, we received letters from Latin America in which they told us about the contestants and sent them the solutions of those tests that lasted several programs, such as
La parte por el todo
.
But they used to be late, because we recorded a month in advance.
With social media, those ties between hopefuls and viewers have become even closer.
And the contestants have a WhatsApp group in which they meet up with 50 and 60 people in all parts of Spain, ”she explains.
Over the seasons,
Knowing and Winning
has created a league of extraordinary men and women.
Those who win more than 7,000 euros are called
magnificent.
The first of them was
Alberto Sanfrutos, who stayed for 62 programs.
Each year's
Magnificents
compete against each other and the winner is declared
Super Magnificent
.
Many of these applicants have served as a quarry for other programs, from
Elhunter
on La 1 to
¡Boom!
and
Pasapalabra
on Antena 3, making the television contestant a new profession.
In 25 years of broadcasts, some of them have had time to see their own children participate in the space of La 2.

It is the third option in the after-dinner table from Monday to Friday, almost always above La 1, Cuatro and La Sexta.
“Thanks to these data, we have survived so many changes in government.
No one has dared to remove the emblem of La 2″, says its director.
It is these data, moreover, that justify that its budget is somewhat higher than other programs on the network's grid, Hurtado points out, pointing out another surprising fact: around 70% of the people who watch it do so from the beginning finally, without changing the channel.
Once the celebration for its 25 years is over, La 2 will repeat the first program, which was broadcast on February 17, 1997, and the 5,000th program, from June 1, 2018. “The contest has evolved a lot, only that has been changing little by little and has not been noticed.
When viewers watch the first show again they will realize.
And also that Jordi was actually younger before,” she says.
