Car crashes head-on into tanker truck, driver dead

A terrible accident happened on Thursday on the B13 near Sauerlach.

A driver died as a result.

– At around 12.30 p.m., the rescue workers were alerted to the Lanzenhaar district of Sauerlach.

On the B13, at the corner of St. Ulrich Weg, according to the police's initial findings, a car driver got into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a tanker truck.

The driver was trapped in his vehicle.

For him any help came too late.

He died in his car.

Fatal accident on the B13: Large contingent moves out

The truck driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The B13 was completely blocked.

A rescue helicopter was also deployed.

Since it was initially not clear whether diesel fuel was leaking from the tanker truck, a large contingent of fire brigade and ABC train was alerted.

The fire brigades from Sauerlach, Arget, Taufkirchen, Brunnthal and Oberhaching moved out.

On site it turned out that although the tank was slightly damaged, no fuel had escaped.
