The Pandemic Coordination Group has commented on the current corona situation in the Dachau district.

There is still no all-clear.

Dachau – The experts of the Pandemic Coordination Group agree: the peak of the fifth wave seems to have been reached, but the incidence is currently stagnating at a very high level, according to the district office in a press release.

Corona in the district of Dachau: Incidences high but stable

It is not yet possible to speak of the all-clear.

Numerous failures among employees in the critical infrastructure and the high occupancy rates on the Corona (normal) ward in the Dachau hospital can still be seen.

"Due to the close testing, especially in primary and special schools, the incidence of six to eleven-year-old children is actually the most representative," says the head of the health department, Dr.

Monika Baumgartner Schneider.

"The incidence here is currently around 5,000."

Corona virus in Dachau: situation in the hospital - gives reason for hope

The feedback from the resident physicians and the situation in the Helios-Amper-Klinikum in Dachau also reflect the very high incidence.

The biggest problem remains that many employees are still absent due to corona infections or quarantine measures.

The situation in the hospital has stabilized at a very high level, although there is reason for hope with regard to the intensive care unit.

A total of just over 40 patients with or because of Corona are currently in the normal ward;

many of them do not live in the district of Dachau.

Two patients currently need intensive medical care because of Corona.

Even if the numbers are now slowly falling, experience shows that the situation in the hospital will remain tense for two to four weeks.

Corona situation in Dachau: compulsory vaccination in the healthcare system

Another important topic is the mandatory sectoral vaccination that will apply from mid-March.

The legal regulations for facility-related compulsory vaccination will come and of course also be applied in the district of Dachau.

However, the Dachau Health Department, like all other stakeholders, is still waiting for information from the federal government on the implementation or the numerous open questions.

Vaccination offers in the district of Dachau

Among other things, a Bavaria-wide reporting portal is now being discussed, on the basis of which the health authorities can continue to work.

The only advice that can currently be given to the people affected is: "Get vaccinated!"

Vaccination offers, from the end of February also with the new vaccine from the manufacturer Novavax, are available in sufficient numbers and are also actively offered and advertised by or in the facilities.
