They are quiet and environmentally friendly: Deutsche Post DHL uses a fleet of 14 electric vehicles in the area of the Waakirchen delivery base.

In 70 percent of all delivery areas of the base, parcels and postal items are delivered CO2-free to customers in Waakirchen, Warngau, Sachsenkam and Gmund.
According to a company press release, this saves 56 tons of CO2 per year compared to delivery by vehicles with combustion engines.
The base is located in the Krottenthal commercial area.
There, the e-vehicles are charged at their own charging stations, preferably overnight.
This means that they are ready for use when the deliverers start delivering in the early morning.
Bettina Altschäffl, head of the Munich branch, explains: "We know that our customers expect us to deliver their letters and parcels to them in the most climate-friendly way possible." The company is doing everything it can to maintain its lead in the field of climate-friendly mail - and parcel supply to expand further.

Swiss Post also sees the constant expansion of the e-fleet as a signal to local authorities.
Since August 2021, the requirements of the "Clean Vehicle Procurement Act" have applied.
Binding minimum targets for the use of low-emission vehicles are thus specified in public procurement.
A certain quota of "clean" vehicles must be observed.
The company emphasizes that this also includes e-commercial vehicles used for postal and parcel services.
