The Fan Art Project constitutes an artistic and educational window through which children in the Children’s Public Library Association in Lattakia view the worlds of fine art in its various forms, classical and modern.

The visitor to the Arts Fan project sees areas of color, lines, shades and colorful drawings that overflow with the innate talents of children as they sit in front of the papers learning to hold the feather in the correct way and mix water colors to give them an aesthetic space, as stated by the project founder, plastic artist Adawiya Diop.

Diop is one of the founding members of the Children's Public Library Association and the owner of many initiatives that contribute to the dissemination of art and the strengthening of its position in society. She showed SANA Cultural that her project extends in its first phase over a period of 3 months and has attracted 36 children divided into two age groups from 7 to 15.

According to Diop, the project bears a purely artistic and educational character that depends on presenting the basics of drawing, with external visits to educational and artistic facilities such as the centers of plastic and applied arts and the modern and national museums.

The children are also trained in the project on artistic and applied works such as ceramics and pottery, and the use of different materials and materials such as pebbles and tree leaves within the recycling of natural materials for the benefit of artworks.

Diop indicated that the project is currently focusing on the interest in early childhood, because the image of the child's world around him is formed at this stage so that he can express his feelings and his relationship with the environment, pointing out that psychological studies confirm the existence of drawing material as a diagnostic case for many psychological, linguistic and cognitive problems in the child.

The project receives great support from those in charge of the Children’s Library Association and to provide all the requirements for the activity and its tools, calling on everyone who has an initiative to go to official institutions and active associations that are keen to provide the necessary support for all the proposed activities, which contributes to creating various initiatives that contribute to raising the artistic taste of our young people.

Rose Ahmed, a graduate of the College of Fine Arts and the supervisor of children from 10 to 15 years old, saw in the project an opportunity to spread the message of art in love and beauty through these children and to promote the values that art gives, such as learning patience, calmness, taking responsibility and looking at things in different ways.

She pointed out that what is distinguished by the activity is the great passion of children and the enthusiasm of parents and their follow-up to the work of their young ones, which reflects their awareness of the importance of art and the need for it in developing their personalities.

When Zeina, a graduate of education (class teacher) and the supervisor of children's education on electronic drawing, pointed out the importance of focusing on the electronic side of art and taking them from the bad side of technology to its fruitful artistic and creative uses.
