On the occasion of the International Children’s Cancer Day, the Tartous Tourism Directorate and Chamber of Tourism held an entertainment day for children with cancer on the beach of the Karnak tourist chalets, which included artistic and sports performances and circus games.
Director of Tourism Bassam Abbas explained in his speech that the aim of this activity is to put a smile on the faces of sick children and a message for the establishment of an association for them in the governorate to provide the necessary services for them.
For her part, Raheeq Ahmed, director of the "Attar Volunteering Workshop" team, stressed the need to closely identify the needs of these children, pointing to the urgent need to establish an association for them, similar to the Basma and Amal associations, to secure medical treatment and psychological support for them.
A number of children's parents believed that these activities would bring joy and happiness to their hearts, but it is necessary to find an active party to take care of their situation to relieve them and their families the trouble and costs of travel, given the special situation they suffer from after receiving treatment and the consequent fatigue of movement.
The event was attended by Tartous Governor Safwan Abu Saadi, President of the Tourism Chamber, Youssef Moisha, and a number of economic and local community activities.
