Hamas activist received medical treatment in Israel and was arrested for questioning on suspicion of passing intelligence to his commanders in the terrorist organization.

Over the next few days, the prosecution is expected to file an indictment against the terrorist in the Be'er Sheva District Court.

As part of a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the police / Negev Sq., On January 24, 27-year-old Ahmad Abu a-Nur was arrested for questioning.

A resident of Gaza entered Israel with a permit for medical treatment and later took advantage of it to stay illegally in Israel.

The investigation revealed that back in 2009 a-Nur was drafted into the military wing of Hamas, and as part of his activities in the organization he took part in training and military activities against the State of Israel, and even operated within the organization's secret apparatus (General Security).

His activities in Hamas and the vast knowledge to which a-Nur was exposed, led to a unique investigation that revealed a great deal of intelligence about Hamas.

Among other things, information was received about the locations of tunnels, weapons stockpiles and military locations from which the organization operates.

The GSS investigation also revealed that the terrorist took advantage of his stay in Israel to pass on intelligence information to his commanders in Hamas' security apparatus, while unsuccessful attempts to recruit additional terrorist activity under the direction of the organization.

All the investigation materials were transferred to the Southern District Attorney's Office.

This investigation, which is in addition to previous investigations conducted recently, once again reveals the cynical exploitation of Hamas, including the General Staff and its secret security apparatus. Hamas uses the humanitarian permits given to Gaza residents to promote terrorist activity in Israel.

Only recently has Israel significantly expanded the number of entry permits into Israel as part of the effort to improve the civilian economic situation in the Gaza Strip.

Matan Peleg, chairman of the If You Will movement, responded: "The policy of promiscuous entry permits of the defense establishment will only lead to many more such cases.

There is no justification for increasing the permits used for terrorism and violence.

Meanwhile, more than 3,000 Arabs from Gaza are roaming the territories of Israel, and the army does not know how to indicate where they are.

"This is a serious and immediate danger, and therefore everyone must be caught and a policy aimed at, first of all, protecting the security of the residents of Israel, and then all kinds of 'gestures'."
