Hundreds at a right-wing demonstration in Tel Aviv demanding a commission of inquiry into the wiretapping affair
The demonstration is attended by Likud MKs and right-wing organizations, who demand the establishment of an "independent" commission of inquiry.
The signs erected at the site read, "Close the trial, open an investigation," "We will not agree to a legal coup," and "This government is killing Zionism."

More than a thousand people from the right-wing bloc are demonstrating tonight (Thursday) in Habima Square in Tel Aviv, demanding the establishment of a committee of inquiry into the police espionage case.
Participating in the demonstration are Likud MKs and heads of right-wing organizations.
The crowd whistles contemptuously and shouts "shame", and on signs waved by the protesters it is written "close the trial, open an investigation", "we will not agree to a legal coup" and "this government is killing Zionism".
"We demand an independent commission of inquiry, not one that investigates the investigators, who will interrogate the former police commissioner Roni Alshikh, the former ombudsman, Avichai Mandelblit, and the state attorney Shai Nitzan," said attorney Adi Baruch at the demonstration. "When and to what extent was the espionage carried out, who gave the order, what espionage was without orders?".

In his speech, MK Yoav Kish called for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. "We will not be satisfied with a parliamentary commission of inquiry.
"Alshikh, Mandelblit and Shai Nitzan must be investigated," he demanded.

"This country is much less democratic than we knew," MK Mickey Zohar said in his speech in the square.
"The Israeli police infiltrated the cell phones of people and in particular Netanyahu's associates in order to remove Netanyahu from office," MK Miki Zohar said in his speech.
The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, tried to make a speech while many of the demonstrators whistled at him.
This is because he did not oppose the formation of the Bennett-Lapid government.
