It is very difficult to understand what the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, meant by "a pause" in the relationship between Mexico and Spain, says Jorge Castañeda, a contributor to CNN en Español.
For Castañeda, "it would seem like a distraction maneuver on the part of López Obrador because there is nothing evident in the behavior of the Spanish government or of Spanish companies and banks with a presence in Mexico that justifies an anger such as that exhibited by López Obrador."
