Storm Ylenia hits Upper Bavaria: Several S-Bahn lines blocked by trees

Several S-Bahn routes around Munich were already blocked in the morning.

A tree fell on the overhead line near Altomünster (Dachau district).

Another tree blocked the S4 route between Geltendorf and Puchheim (district of Fürstenfeldbruck).

The S6 in the Starnberg district was also briefly blocked.

More fallen trees block roads throughout Upper Bavaria.

The anemometer is working well.

Gusts of wind (Bft 9) and heavy gusts of wind (Bft 10) sweep across the country here in the Munich area.

Especially in the vicinity of showers it's off!

Hurricane low over Bavaria: In the north, nothing works by train anymore

If you also want to take the train in the direction of Northern Bavaria, be prepared for cancellations and long delays.

Ten regional express lines have been interrupted in Franconia and Upper Bavaria.

In addition, there are thousands of small power outages throughout Bavaria, mostly also due to fallen trees on power lines.

Storm Ylenia triggers tragic accident: tree falls on man

A particularly tragic accident occurred in the Fürstenfeldbruck district.

A 36-year-old Germeringer was hit by parts of a falling tree on the way to his car.

A woman found the man lying unconscious under the wood and set the rescue chain in motion.

The fire brigade had to free the man with heavy equipment before he could be taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The 36-year-old is out of danger.

In contrast to the much more tense situation in Franconia and the Upper Palatinate, apart from the tragic accident, there has been no major damage in Upper Bavaria for the time being, although, as I said, the climax is still to come.

The storm is not expected to subside until the afternoon and the risk of individual hurricane gusts, which are particularly damaging, is slowly decreasing.
