In the penultimate intermediate round game, the Herrschinger Bundesliga volleyball players have to play against the Grizzlys Giesen.

To still have a chance of sixth place, WWK Volleys have to win.

Herrsching

– The intermediate round of the volleyball league has barely started when it is already heading towards the home straight.

WWK Volleys Herrsching is fighting for sixth place in a long-distance duel with Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen.

The Ammerseer will play against the Helios Grizzlys Giesen on Saturday, 5.30 p.m. (live on twitch.tv/spontent), the Brandenburgers will play against SVG Lüneburg on Sunday.

Next Sunday, the final intermediate round game between Herrsching and Königs Wusterhausen will take place in Munich's Audi Dome.

After three wins in a row, the WWK Volleys shipwrecked in Lüneburg last Saturday.

Due to the 1: 3 in the chic LKH Arena, the Ammerseer missed to displace the Lüneburg from first place in the intermediate round group B.

It was also a small step backwards in terms of gameplay.

Coach Max Hauser spoke of a "very strong attack weakness".

Captain Tim Peter & Co. now want to make amends with the Grizzlies.

After a "good week of training", Hauser is in good spirits again before the long trip to Hildesheim.

The 38-year-old doesn't expect a volleyball treat, but "a battle".

No player, apart from setter Luke Herr and libero Ferdinand Tille, can be sure of being in the starting line-up.

"The players fight for their place," Hauser stated.

In the middle, Iven Ferch, who has returned from a dental operation, increases Hauser's options.

However, neither Philipp Schumann, who had been bought for the intermediate round, nor Jonas Kaminski could convince on Diagonal.

Tim Peter and Jordi Ramon, who had previously played well, were weak in the outside attack, but Jori Mantha was convincing.

In the previous four games between Herrsching and Giesen it was mostly high.

At the beginning of the season, the Ammersee won 3:2 in Hildesheim.

In mid-November, in the quarter-finals of the cup, it was again 3-2 for the Hauser crew.

Three days after the dramatic cup success, the Grizzlies turned the tables and won clearly 3-0 against a drained Herrschinger.

In the first leg of the second round three weeks ago, Herrsching won 3-1.

For the hosts, who have been allowed to play in front of spectators for the first time since November 20th of the previous year (up to 500 fans are allowed in the Hildesheimer Volksbank-Arena under 2G-plus), the two remaining games in the intermediate round are all about the golden pineapple.

Coach Itamar Stein's team will finish the intermediate round in eighth place and meet the Berlin Recycling Volleys in the play-off quarter-finals.

A wide variety of constellations are still possible for the Herrschinger.

Possible opponents are the Powervolleys Düren, the United Volleys Frankfurt or the VfB Friedrichshafen.

Against the latter two, the Herrschinger reckon they have a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
