Johnny by Johnny: the documentary series from March 29 on Netflix

Directed by Alexandre Danchin and Jonathan Gallaud, this documentary of 3h20 in total, will be composed of five episodes. It will be released in parallel with a biopic on the life of the French rocker signed Jalil Lespert.


More than four years after his death, in November 2017, the French rocker remains in everyone's mind.

The American giant Netflix announced on Friday the release of the documentary series

Johnny by Johnny

dedicated to the French rocker Johnny Hallyday, available on the platform from March 29.

“intimate” series, told by Johnny himself, retraces the life and career of the greatest icon of French rock”,

through interviews and unpublished archive images, specifies Netflix in a press release.

Directed by Alexandre Danchin and Jonathan Gallaud, this documentary of 3h20 in total, will be composed of five episodes.

It will be released in parallel with a biopic on the life of the French rocker signed Jalil Lespert and will be under the supervision of Laetitia Hallyday, Johnny's ex-wife and current companion of the director.

The latter, also known for his film

with Pierre Niney, has not yet indicated who will be the interpreter of the rockstar,
