.: Extensive criminal investigations into the homicide followed by suicide on Wednesday evening in front of a shop in Kirchheim/Teck are still underway.
There are indications that the 58-year-old who was killed had already been threatened by her husband before the crime and that people from the official environment of the 59-year-old LKA police officer are said to have reported this.
Therefore, the public prosecutor's office in Stuttgart has initiated preliminary proceedings against unknown persons because of the initial suspicion of negligent homicide.

The public prosecutor's office in Stuttgart and the police headquarters in Reutlingen have new insights into the fatal shots in Kirchheim unter Teck: As is now known, the 58-year-old woman who was shot by her husband (59) worked in the supermarket.
The gunman who was found dead in his car was a member of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Baden-Württemberg and had first killed his wife, who was separated from him, and then himself with his service weapon.
According to the current status of the investigation, the motive lies in the private, family area and has no recognizable official connection.

Update from February 17, 7:12 a.m
.: On Wednesday evening, a 58-year-old woman was killed by her 59-year-old husband at a supermarket on Stuttgarter Strasse, who then shot himself.
According to the Reutlingen police headquarters, the police were alerted around 7:30 p.m. after passers-by heard shots in front of the supermarket.
The 58-year-old was found dead in the entrance area of the market by police officers who arrived just a few minutes later.
The husband who shot himself in his car was discovered in the parking lot in front of the entrance area.
The suspected murder weapon was found on the dead man's vehicle.
Bystanders were not injured.
The criminal police have still taken on the spot investigations into the background and the exact course of events.
These are still ongoing.
Any witnesses to the incident who left before the police arrived are asked to call the Kirchheim police station on 07021/501-0.

.: Stuttgart/Reutlingen – In Kirchheim unter Teck (near Stuttgart*) terrible scenes take place on Wednesday evening (February 16).
Around 7:30 p.m. shots were fired in front of the “Nanz” shopping center.
As the German press agency reported shortly thereafter, a woman and a man are said to have died.
The deceased was apparently the perpetrator, according to a spokesman for the Reutlingen police headquarters.
Other people are not injured.
There is also no danger to the population, as reported by HEIDELBERG24*.

The background and motive for the terrible act in Kirchheim unter Teck are still completely unclear.
The exact course of events has not yet been clarified.
According to SWR information, the shots are said to have been fired in the parking lot and in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the organic market.
The perpetrator directed himself after the attack on the woman.
The dead are also said to be “elderly” people, as reported by Mercury*. To what extent the victim and the perpetrator knew each other cannot be said at this time.
The police are on site and are conducting further investigations.
The crime scene is largely closed.
