The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that the planned exercises of the strategic deterrence forces, which include launching ballistic and winged missiles, will take place tomorrow, under the supervision of President Vladimir Putin.
"Tomorrow, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, Vladimir Putin, a planned maneuver of the Strategic Deterrence Forces will take place, during which ballistic and cruise missiles will be launched," said a statement issued by the ministry and reported by Russian media.
"The Aerospace Forces, the Southern Military District, the Strategic Missile Forces, the Northern Sea Fleet and the Black Sea are participating in the exercises," the statement added.
The statement indicated that the training of the strategic deterrence forces was planned earlier to verify the readiness of the military command and control bodies, the launch of combat crews, warships and strategic missile carriers to carry out the tasks assigned to them, as well as the reliability of strategic nuclear weapons.
