Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Officials from United Nations agencies, international human rights organizations and a number of diplomats visited Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the east of occupied Jerusalem in support of its people in the face of the forced displacement campaign waged by the Israeli occupation against them.
The Palestinian Wafa Agency stated that the residents of the neighborhood briefed the delegation on the suffering of the families whose homes the occupation threatens to vacate for the benefit of the settlers, especially the Salem family, who are at risk of forced displacement at the end of this month.
Gwen Lewis, Director of UNRWA Affairs in the West Bank, said: "I am here from UNRWA with a number of international organizations to show our support and support for the Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah. These families are facing the threat of forced eviction from their homes by an Israeli order."
In conjunction with the visit of the international delegation, Israeli Knesset member Itamar Ben Gvir and a number of settlers stormed the neighborhood under the protection of the occupation forces, who prevented the delegation from leaving through the door of the Salem family’s house from the side where Ben Gvir established a headquarters on the family’s land.
Dozens of Palestinians were wounded and arrested last week, when settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, stormed the neighborhood and set up a headquarters for Ibn Ghafir, meters away from the home of the Salem family.
