Eight weapons were stolen last night around 19:00 from the Golani Museum at the Golani Junction.
Among other things, two pistols, two cylinders, an MAG and more were stolen.
The museum's management called the police, who began a pursuit of the suspects.
Several suspects in the act were arrested, revealing the whereabouts of some of the weapons, but most of the weapons have not yet been found.
The director of the museum, Brigadier General (Res.) Alon Friedman, told Israel Today: "These are sterilized and welded weapons that cannot be fired or used.
The thieves harmed the symbols of the State of Israel and the heritage of the Golani Brigade. "
The police said: "Last night, the Israel Police Hotline 100 received a report of a burglary at the Golani Museum at the memorial site at the Golani Junction and the theft of several sterilized and old weapons that could not be fired. Northern District police rushed to the scene. "The 20 and 30 were arrested and on Saturday night they will be brought to the hearing of the police's request to extend their detention."
It should be noted that the police have recently been conducting a manhunt for gun thieves in the Northern District.
It is estimated that as a result, the thieves tried their luck with old weapons that are unable to fire, in order to use them.
