The topics at this year's Munich Security Conference range from the corona pandemic to the Ukraine crisis.

Karl Lauterbach was also there and tweeted diligently.

Munich – Karl Lauterbach (SPD) is visiting the Munich Security Conference for the first time as Federal Health Minister.

Because, despite a slow but sure easing of the Corona situation, the virus is still on the agenda of the conference.

The SPD politician will meet in Munich, among others, with the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and Mike Ryan, head of the WHO corona defense.

Lauterbach shared all of this on his Twitter channel.

But one photo in particular stands out and causes a lot of explosives on the Internet: Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach together with US entrepreneur Bill Gates.

Karl Lauterbach with Bill Gates: consultations on vaccine

Seen in the photo: Lauterbach and Gates in outfits that appear as agreed.

Suit with a blue sweater with a white shirt peeking out at the collar.

Lauterbach writes: “Talked to Bill Gates at the Munich Security Conference about vaccines for poorer countries.

In my opinion, the focus in the future must be on preventing pandemics.

Then you don't need vaccines for billions of people either. ”But these words are probably of secondary importance for most Twitter users.

The combination of the two men is much more exciting.

Karl Lauterbach with Bill Gates: This is how Twitter reacts

"Have the Telegram servers crashed yet?", "The Telegram servers will collapse from too much hate" and "Conspiracy fans must be strong now" are just a few of the comments under Lauterbach's post.

The Twitter users are alluding to the lateral thinkers and conspiracy theorists who accuse Bill Gates, among other things, of directing the WHO and wanting to decimate the world population with vaccines.

The scene uses the messenger service Telegram for exchange.

Seeing him now with Germany's Health Minister Karl Lauterbach could upset those of such beliefs.

Even familiar faces can't help but comment on it.

Journalist Sascha Lobo writes about the photo: "How Karl Lauterbach once paralyzed Telegram." Valentin Abel, member of the Bundestag for the FDP, tweeted: "I see a server collapse at Telegram on the horizon." Further comments under Lauterbach's post:

  • "They triggered all lateral thinkers"

  • "A real #honeypot for all lateral thinkers"

  • "Imagine the two of them laughing to death together about the #QuerdenkerSindKacke and #Impfgegner... and I love it"

  • "You want to see Telegram explode and Twitter burn, don't you?"

Karl Lauterbach with Bill Gates: Anger about missing masks and distance

In addition to all the users who are amused by the lateral thinker scene and Telegram, there are others for whom one detail in the picture goes against the grain: Bill Gates and Karl Lauterbach are both not wearing masks and are not keeping their distance.

Many do not understand why, in contrast, children in schools have to wear masks all day.

Julian Reichelt, former editor-in-chief of Bild, takes the same line and writes: “Dear parents, who send your children to school with a mask, please remember: If you don’t want to mess up the fame selfie as a minister, you have to Of course not wearing a mask.

(Yes, such a photo would actually be forbidden in most German schools.)” What Reichelt does not mention, however, is that the Siko has 2G+ with a daily PCR test.

In addition, both men are vaccinated and boosted,

Whatever your opinion, the photo of Lauterbach and Gates has gone viral.

After just a few hours, it already had over 13,000 likes, countless comments and retweets.
