The government has implemented a community quarantine facility hotel plan to combat the epidemic. The first quarantine hotel, Dorsett Tsuen Wan, officially opened yesterday, providing 596 rooms for confirmed cases with mild or no symptoms. In related work, an anti-epidemic task force was established to be responsible for the management of community isolation facilities and hotels. About 1,000 retired disciplined service personnel have been recruited to participate, including many former senior officials, including the Fire Services Department, who was in charge of the anti-epidemic task force. Former Director Li Jianri, etc., all personnel must receive relevant training and be equipped with sufficient epidemic prevention equipment.

In addition to Dorsett Tsuen Wan, there are currently 5 hotels designated as quarantine hotels, including iclub Ma Tau Wai Hotel (340 rooms), iclub Fortress Hill Hotel (338 rooms), Regal Oriental Hotel (460 rooms), pentahotel Kowloon, and Crowne Plaza Kowloon East.

The government said earlier that so far, 21 hotels are willing to participate in community quarantine hotels, providing a total of 11,000 rooms. Taking into account about 4,400 rooms to be opened soon, and about another 5,500 rooms that the government is negotiating with hotels, it is estimated that In total, more than 20,000 rooms have the opportunity to become a community quarantine measure.
