The foreign ministers of the G7 countries stressed that the implementation of the Minsk agreements is the only way to reach a permanent political settlement of the crisis in eastern Ukraine, expressing their readiness for dialogue with Russia on European security and arms control.

The G7 foreign ministers said in a joint statement today: “We affirm our commitment to Russia to continue dialogue on issues of common interest such as European security, confidence-building, arms control and transparency, and we reaffirm our commitment to finding a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the current crisis,” describing the increasing violation of the ceasefire regime on The line of contact in the Donbass region in recent days is “extremely worrying.”

In their statement, the ministers condemned the use of heavy weapons and the indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas, saying that it “clearly violates the Minsk agreements.”

The statement repeated the allegations and accusations of Western countries against Russia and demanded that it choose the path of diplomacy regarding the crisis in Ukraine and withdraw its military forces.

The republics of Donetsk and Luhansk announced today the continuation of violations by the Ukrainian forces of the cease-fire agreement, and revealed the existence of Ukrainian plans to occupy the Donbass region within five days.
