An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit Wasit Governorate, central Iraq.

Alsumaria news website quoted seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring as saying that the tremor occurred 20 km southeast of Badra district, indicating that there were no reports of losses or damages as a result of it.

An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck last month, Nineveh Governorate, northern Iraq.
