After a cessation of work that lasted for more than 7 years due to the attacks of the terrorist organization (ISIS) on the Palmyra area and its desert, the livestock market located on the outskirts of Palmyra city has returned to life again and witnessing a movement of buying and selling.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Khaled Suleiman, the market supervisor, confirmed that he had attracted livestock breeders in the Palmyra desert to display their livestock for sale and purchase on Saturdays and Wednesdays of every week by bringing in hundreds of sheep, goats and camels.

Suleiman described the movement of buying and selling livestock as good and constantly improving, pointing to the demand for the market after the return of a large number of livestock breeders in the Badia to the region following the availability of security and stability thanks to the Syrian Arab Army.

Sheep breeder Malouh Qusaiban stressed the importance of reopening the Palmyra fodder center as it saves the breeders huge costs and fees.
