14 indictments were filed for sexual offenses committed against 194 minors • A man who impersonated an agent and persuaded young women to send him their sexual content was sentenced to 14 years in prison

17 indictments were filed during 2021 for online sexual offenses against minors and for violations of the Video Law, according to data obtained by Israel Today.

The State Attorney's Department's Cyber Department filed last year 14 indictments for online sexual offenses, which were committed against 194 minors, and three more indictments for violations of the Video Act.

Eight of the cases are the result of complaints received at the 105 hotline, which belongs to the National Network for the Protection of Children on the Net.

Personal details were distributed

In 2021, two stringent sentences were handed down for online sexual assault against dozens of victims.

His son Reinhorn, who impersonated a modeling agent, was sentenced by the court to 14 years in prison and awarded NIS 262,000, after being convicted of committing sexual offenses on 27 young women, 24 of them minors, and attempting to commit sexual offenses on 38 other young women.

Reinhorn opened accounts on the social network Instagram and for about a year persuaded young women to go through an "audition" by submitting photos and videos of themselves in partial attire or in full nudity.

In some cases, the young women committed sexual acts themselves.

In another sentence, the court sentenced Uriah Assis to 12 years in prison and compensation of about NIS 305,000, after he was convicted of committing sexual offenses against 48 young women, all of them minors and most of them from the ultra-Orthodox religious sector.

Assis committed most of the offenses in cyberspace, but in some cases he even went online and met minors.

Assis impersonated for four years various characters, through which he persuaded minors to send him pictures of their partial or full nudity.

He also managed to persuade some of the young women to meet with him, and then committed the sexual offenses attributed to him in them.

In another case, the court sentenced Ronen Sheikh, who was convicted of invading privacy and sexual harassment against 187 women, to 50 months in prison and compensation in the amount of about half a million shekels.

Sheikh managed a network of about 20 telegram groups, in which sexual content was distributed, along with the personal details of Israeli women, without them knowing or agreeing to it.

Dozens of accounts were removed

Over the past year, following the hacking of CyberServe servers and the proliferation of databases of several sites, including Atref (a gay community dating site), the cyber department has worked to protect the privacy of thousands of surfers whose information has been circulated.

Among other things, the department removed accounts and publications on Telegram, Facebook, Twitter and other sites that posted the sensitive information or parts of it.

In addition, the department removed from the network more than 80 accounts belonging to the group of hackers BlackShadow and its website was blocked from accessing Israel, and later even downloaded from the network.
