Holzkirchen – Holzkirchen had planned the building yard and middle school projects with KfW money.

But the federal government has stopped the funding program.

In the most recent meeting of the market town council, Holzkirchen's mayor Christoph Schmid answered two questions.

It was about the freeze on funding for energy-efficient construction recently imposed by the federal government.

Accordingly, the ban announced by Robert Habeck (Greens) as Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection could make the middle school and new building yard projects, which are now well advanced, significantly more expensive.

Both the CSU parliamentary group and Huber Müller (FWG) wanted to know how the cessation of KfW funding would affect the large-scale building yard and middle school projects in particular.

Schmid confirmed that the funding applications had not yet been submitted by the deadline because there were still no attachments and they are therefore effectively excluded from the funding.

As Schmid went on to say, however, the planners of both projects advised against ad hoc rescheduling at this point in time for reasons of cost and time.

"I can't imagine that a government that is committed to protecting the environment and hasn't described this decision as a brilliant achievement isn't making adjustments here," he said, assessing the current situation.

Therefore, the plans should also be continued unchanged.

Although Schmid did not name names or parties, Robert Wiechmann (Greens) felt compelled to defend the decision announced by Habeck.

Above all, he put the blame on his predecessor Peter Altmaier (CDU), because during his tenure there was a large wave of unpaid subsidies, which are now missing: "Such a decision has many fathers." Schmid, however, denied the accusation that to do politics at the federal level in the municipal council: "I have only answered the inquiries and hope for improvements soon."

If these do not come, according to Schmid's estimate, the market community would have to raise around 5.3 million euros more for the building yard and the middle school.
