Special Envoy to Rostov-on-Don
Between Rostov-on-Don, the big city in southern Russia and Uspenka, the crossing point to the "Donetsk People's Republic" (DNR), the road of a hundred kilometers crosses flat landscapes such as the hand.
On the side, in the direction of Ukraine, columns of about fifteen Russian army vehicles are parked: trucks pulling trailers, armored personnel carriers... Admittedly, the area is traditionally very militarized, but this presence inevitably resounds with the drums which announce an “imminent” war in the east of Ukraine.
In the opposite direction, towards Russia, we come across buses flanked by police cars transporting the “evacuees” from Donbass.
