The Pakistani army announced the killing of one of its soldiers in addition to five militants of the Pakistani Taliban movement during an exchange of fire in the North Waziristan region bordering Afghanistan.
The army said in a statement today, "Based on intelligence information, the security forces raided one of the militants' hideouts, and there was an intense exchange of fire, which resulted in the killing of one of the soldiers, in addition to 5 militants."
The army forces confiscated quantities of weapons, bombs and some maps of a number of buildings belonging to the army and security forces, which Taliban militants intended to target.
The border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan are witnessing clashes between the army and Taliban militants.
