Radicalization of lateral thinkers: That goes beyond the democratic framework

With whistles, a woman wanted to move in front of the private houses of the mayors in the Dachau district and demonstrate there against the Corona policy.

A secret group of telegrams called for people to move to the houses of local politicians and make noise.

This crossed a red line.

Dachau - Not registering demos is one thing, but making a fuss in front of politicians' homes is another.

Here the democratically legitimate framework is blown up and a limit is crossed.

To prevent things from getting that far, it is important that society takes the fears and concerns of people like Dagmar G. seriously, listens to them and enters into a respectful dialogue with them.

But even the “walkers” have to keep to it.

Attempts at intimidation are certainly not one of them and are more reminiscent of popular methods used by right-wing extremists.

If people like Ms. G. don't want to be pigeonholed with neo-rights, then they shouldn't propagate such anti-democratic practices in secret telegram chats, and they should find out who's taking part in the walks.

“Concerned citizens” make it too easy for themselves to hide behind “I didn't know that”.

Right-wing infiltration of the Corona protests

The fact that no skinheads with combat boots and swastika flags appear on the Corona walks does not mean that there are no neo-Nazis there.

You don't have to look extreme to have extreme views.

On the contrary: right-wing extremists deliberately do without identifying features in order to mix unnoticed with the Corona demonstrators.

It is enough to look on the Internet or in messenger services such as Telegram.

Right-wing extremists like the small party III.

Way blatantly and publicly, in how many Upper Bavarian cities their supporters have already taken part in walks.

Markt Indersdorf, Petershausen and Dachau are also mentioned.

We need an open and democratic discourse

Continuing to stubbornly follow the path of ignorance will harden the fronts in the long run.

As a result, the walkers lose credibility and deny themselves the opportunity to be taken seriously at their demonstrations.

Criticism of the Corona policy is justified, but it depends on how it is presented.

In a joint petition, Dachau politicians, organizations and civil society have called for a counter-protest.
