In all, the cost of the LGV Bordeaux-Toulouse project is estimated at 14.3 billion euros: the State participates up to 40%, an equivalent threshold for local authorities, the rest being provided by the European Union .

Procedures

After the approval of this funding program, Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie region, welcomed this crucial step "

to make concrete progress towards the creation of the project company by April, with a view to starting the works in 2024, as the Prime Minister has just committed to doing.”

The commissioning of this section is scheduled for 2030: the fourth largest city in France will then be three hours from Paris, compared to four currently.

The Bordeaux-Toulouse journey (240 km) being reduced from two to one hour with the extension of the LGV.
