The rains that fell yesterday in the Negev caused floods and strong currents in the desert streams, including Nahal Raviv, Nahal Tzin, Nahal Dabshon Waterfall and the northern channels of Ramat Ovedat.

Nahal Ruth and Nahal Lavan at the mouth of Nitzana and Nahal Arugot also floated.

The floods caused, among other things, the blockage of traffic on Road 90, between Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea hotels, due to flooding.

The weather, which was rainy in parts of the country, did not deter hikers, and about 50,000 frequented the various flowering trails.

The Nature and Parks Authority said that the most prominent sites on Shabbat were the Banias and Caesarea National Park with about 1,500 visitors at each of the sites, the Ein Afek Reserve with about 1,100 visitors and the Yarkon, Tel Afek and Migdal Tzedek National Parks with about a thousand hikers.

Visitors also came to the Hermon site, where they received fresh snow that fell during the day.
