Students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad won two silver and bronze medals in the (InfoCap 2022) International Informatics Championship organized by Romania “remotely” over the 12th and 13th of this month, with the participation of 164 male and female students distributed among 41 teams from 14 countries.
The Excellence and Creativity Commission said in a statement, which SANA received a copy of today, that the silver medal was won by a member of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in Informatics team, Amin Abdul Karim Sherba, from the first secondary grade at Al-Basel School for Outstanding Students in Damascus. Bronze was achieved by team member Ahmed Akram Tohme, from the second year of secondary school at the Secondary School of Excellence in Homs.
The Commission indicated that the four students who represented the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in this special tournament for the ages of 16 and under achieved clear progress in the level of their performance and grades compared to the previous Syrian participation in this tournament.
Participation in this tournament is the beginning of the participation of the Syrian International Scientific Olympiad for the 2022 season, and it included two rounds of four hours each.
