Members of the Central Unit of the Central District Police today (Sunday) arrested Yitzhak Berkovich, 31, from Ness Ziona, who is defined by them as close to the criminal organization Lavi from Rehovot.

According to police, Berkowitz was detained during a targeted operation against criminal organizations in which an explosive device in an abandoned structure was exposed, which was neutralized by a sapper and transferred for further extraction of evidence in forensic laboratories.
At the end of a several-hour investigation, Berkowitz was taken to the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion, where the police requested that his detention be extended by ten days.
As stated, the police charged him with the offenses of placing a charge, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of a knife.
The defense attorney, Adv. Shani Moran, noted on the other hand that the police did not present any evidence linking Marsha to the charge, and he himself denies that he knew of its existence.
Judge Tal Anar, who reviewed the investigation materials presented to him, partially granted the police request and ordered an extension of detention for only three days.
According to him, there is a reasonable suspicion regarding the possession of the knife, but regarding the second offense it is necessary to conduct an investigation.
It will be recalled that between the Lavi organization, to which the police link Berkowitz, and other criminal organizations, including Bnei Shlomo's organization, a violent conflict has arisen.
