"Match between the indices and the expectations of the public"

At today's cabinet meeting, Bennett addressed the decline in morbidity and how to proceed.

"There needs to be a match between our metrics and the situation on the ground, and what we project to the public and expect from it," he said.

"In order to maintain the public's trust and ensure that the citizens of Israel implement the guidelines and decisions that the government makes, we must start when the situation improves - and it improves significantly."

Last Thursday, the Ministry of Health recommended stopping institutional antigen testing starting March 1 and allowing PCR testing for the entire population.

This, during a discussion held by senior ministry officials with Prime Minister Bennett that day.

Even then, the ministry explained that the reason for the recommendation was the decrease in morbidity, which makes it possible to provide more reliable tests.

Also, due to the fact that the reliability of the tests decreases as the morbidity fades.

The debate became heated during a debate on the tourism outline, in which the Prime Minister demanded that tourists be allowed to enter Israel for any tourist who wished unconditionally.

The Ministry of Health then objected to this demand, but this was finally approved with the concessions announced by the government today.
