Can the Munich Oktoberfest take place again after a two-year Corona break?
Ex-Mayor Ude commented on this in a BR program.
Munich – Was it the hope for a normal Oktoberfest in 2022?
After the Wiesn was canceled in the last two years due to the corona pandemic, many are hoping for a new edition this year.
Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) only recently gave hope.
He believes that one can look to the future with confidence, said Söder on Tuesday after the Bavarian cabinet meeting in Munich.
"That also applies to some folk festivals and some events, which I think are possible." A former mayor of Munich does not seem to be so optimistic.

and was asked whether the Oktoberfest could take place in its usual way this year.
"With the addition 'of the usual kind', I think you can clearly say: no." He suspects that many would certainly work on small opportunities to make something similar to the Oktoberfest possible.
In "the usual way" it will probably not be.

Munich's ex-OB comments on the Wiesn: put back hope for a normal Oktoberfest?
In the fall, the values would rise again, the numbers would get worse and the restrictions would increase, Ude said on the TV show.
He believes, therefore, "that we have to put aside the hope for a normal Oktoberfest."
