The Wall Street Journal revealed that Iran, the United States and other world powers are close to reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.
The newspaper quoted officials participating in the talks to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and America in the Austrian capital, Vienna, as saying in statements that "an agreement may be completed in Vienna within the next two days."
In turn, US officials indicated that US sanctions on Iran would be suspended under the new agreement, noting that the agreement "will re-impose severe but temporary restrictions" on Iran's nuclear program.
In its article, the American newspaper mentioned that the above-mentioned countries are heading to conclude the agreement, although negotiators are still arguing about the final demands, which it described as “important” from Tehran, including the scope of sanctions relief, explaining that the discussion is still ongoing about how to lift sanctions against senior Iranian figures.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said earlier today that the Vienna talks had made remarkable progress, but there were still major outstanding issues.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian discussed with the European Union Commissioner for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell the process of reviving the nuclear agreement, canceling the embargo imposed on Iran and obtaining guarantees in this regard.
