Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir has criticized road blockades by climate protection groups.
"It doesn't matter who wants what, a democracy cannot be blackmailed," said the Green politician on Monday in Berlin.
"I advise you to think back to what it's all about, certainly not about giving those who want to do as little as possible climate protection the ball forward." Climate protection is urgent and necessary.
"And that's exactly why I don't really want to see very few people making noise that endanger majorities for climate protection."
Künast: "It's coming to a dead end"
The Greens member of the Bundestag Renate Künast wrote on Twitter that the actions of the climate activists had something “tragic”.
"It hits a dead end and shifts the focus away from the issue - to what is still legitimate and what is just perceived as a criminal offense." She was referring to an article about climate activists expanding their actions wanted to.
The group »uprising of the last generation« repeatedly blocked motorway exits, above all in Berlin, but also in Hamburg and Munich.
On Monday morning, the Köhlbrand Bridge in Hamburg was closed because of one of their actions.
Demonstrators had glued themselves to the street with superglue and construction foam.
On the same day, the activists paralyzed a main traffic artery in the center of Stuttgart and the entrance to a tunnel in Freiburg.
At the weekend, the group announced that it would expand its activities to ports and airports if there were no concrete commitments from the red-green-yellow federal government to implement a food rescue law by Sunday evening.
