Affected by the strong winter monsoon, the weather in Hong Kong continued to be cold and rainy.

In the past two days (20th and 21st), the temperature at the Observatory Headquarters has repeatedly hit new lows since the beginning of winter. It was 0.2 degrees lower at Tai Mo Shan yesterday morning, but there was no ice or frost, and some residents returned disappointed.

In the early morning of today (22nd), the temperature on the top of the mountain has risen slightly, but some people are still not afraid of the epidemic, climbing the mountain in the rain, looking forward to seeing the miracle of frost, "It's a low risk!"

In the early hours of this morning, the temperature in Tai Mo Shan hovered around 5 to 8 degrees, with the lowest recorded at 5.8 degrees, and it rained non-stop throughout the night.

Mr. Li, who lives in Tseung Kwan O, made a special trip to climb the mountain, hoping to see ice and frost, but in the end, he failed to do so. "It's raining heavily, and I'm not disappointed. It's all luck!" He pointed out that there was no frost last year. "Every time I freeze, I get a chance once a year!" When asked if he would be worried about going out to climb the mountain due to the severe epidemic, he said he was not worried: "It's a low risk!"

Mr. Kwok and Mr. Leung, who traveled together, drove up the mountain by their own cars. They were regular visitors to Tai Mo Shan. They also didn’t think they would see frost.

The day before yesterday and yesterday, the Observatory headquarters recorded the lowest temperature of 8 degrees and 7.5 degrees, successively setting the lowest temperature record since the beginning of winter.

The temperature in the urban area is similar to the cold wave at the beginning of last year, but last year, Tai Mo Shan dropped to -2.5 degrees below zero. The grass and leaves were frosted and icy, and icicles appeared in the crevices of rocks, attracting many citizens to "check in" on the mountain.

In the early morning of today (22nd), the minimum temperature at Tai Mo Shan was 5.8 degrees.
