Divorce rumors about Sweden's dream couple: now the royals are expressing themselves

Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband Prince Daniel personally commented on their relationship after numerous rumors.
Solna - As a royal, you're almost used to it: There are always rumors and speculations about life behind the palace walls.
However, almost no one of those affected actually commented on this.
True to the motto: let them talk.
In some exceptional cases, however, this courtly concept is thrown overboard.
The most prominent representatives are still Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, who caused a scandal with the Oprah interview and are already planning the next publication with Harry's memoirs.
In Monaco, too, a statement was made on the state of health and the relationship between Prince Albert and Charlène.
Royals: Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel comment on divorce rumors
Now another royal couple apparently felt the need to make a public statement about their marriage.
It is the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel.
In the rare statement, they denied rumors of an alleged imminent separation.
"We don't usually comment on rumors and speculation," the couple wrote on Saturday (February 19, 2022) on the Swedish royal family's social media channels for a joint photo.
"But for the protection of our family, we want to make it clear once and for all that the rumors that are being circulated are completely unfounded."
Victoria and Daniel of Sweden: Rumors 'just didn't go away'
The social media post was triggered by several articles on a Swedish gossip website.
It kept repeating that a divorce was imminent and that Daniel would treat his wife badly.
Royal communications manager Margareta Thorgren also told Swedish broadcaster

that the couple made the unusual statement to put an end to the rumours.
These simply did not disappear, although they had already been denied in serious media.
Swedish Royals: "Long Live Love"
Within a very short time, the couple received a lot of encouragement from Swedish society for their statement.
"If people would stop talking crap like that, everyone would be much better off," writes one woman, for example.
"Long live love," adds another.
The 44-year-old heir to the throne has been married to 48-year-old Prince Daniel since 2010.
The two have children Estelle (9) and Oscar (5).
